Boomkat product review for:

jon phonics - Grid Games EP

Jon Phonics follows up his HipHop-'Tronica ace 'The One' with a slew of collaborations backed with smart remixes. He proves an adaptable, dynamic collaborator alongside Bug on the spiralling fluoro crunk of 'Jack Duckworth', and equally the oozy, crushed funk of 'ROMES' with Pete Cannon, and the heat-seeking swagger of 'Double Vision' with Jeeks. Flipside Kidkanevil remixes his 'Swamp Donkey' cut with S-Type, while Ghost Mutt slices 'Jack Duckworth' into cartoonish 2-step rhythms and melody, beside a slumped version of 'ROMES' by Pedestrian.
