So,is he or isn't he? Well, the likely answer is that Steinvord is not AFX, let's get that out of the way. However, listening to the braincore D&B and dazzling electro-acoustic dynamics of his Rephlex debut, you'd be forgiven for thinking he was the elusive ginger uberlord himself. Anyway, you've probably got a fair idea of what you'll encounter here, but we'll continue to try and elucidate. His self-titled debut on wax comprises five tracks, arriving with the hugely impressive, diffuse intro of 'Backyard' before sustaining a high-octane, back-breaking rhythmic, melodic and harmonic assault until the end of 'Ontrackv2'. Simply, in the absence of any new AFX tackle, this is as close as you'll get to that sound right now. TIP!
