**Clear Vinyl** Crazy piece of wax, this, pairing men-of-the-moment Throwing Snow and Illum Sphere against vintage Brazilian psyche-jazz from Lula Cortes and Ze Ramalho. A-side Throwing Snow plays it slow and cool with a rework of 'Omm/Louvação a Iemanjá', keeping the pressure on the downstroke with throbbing slow House beat surrounded by spacious, swirling elements of flute and strings before rolling out with some super tight drum programming and spookily dissonant organ. It's an impressive effort, but we gotta say the Illum Sphere remix of 'Nao Existe Molhado Igual Ao Pranto' is really something special. We're not sure how much of the original he's using, but it somehow sounds like Flying Lotus jamming with Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and even freakin' Smegma at times, and if that means anything to you, it should be a bit of a priority.
