Deadboy and Joe head up the last of three 12"s loaded with reinterpretations of tracks from Scuba's 'Triangulation'. Revising 'Before' Deadboy brilliantly plays with our perceptions of pitch, fundamentally f**king with conventional arrangements to make his fusion of jungle and garage sound so odd, yet strikingly effective. On the flip Joe totally rewires 'So You Think You're Special' as a Fonky Piano House spesh, almost leaning into discordant Conlon Nancarrow sequences in much the same way as Wolfgang Voigt's 'Freiland Klaviermusik', only with a more intrinsic form of UK funk. For our money, this is the best of the 3 x 12"s.
