g-man - Quo Vadis
Back in stock! Styrax truly are on a mission this year, and this latest killer twelve packages up three long lost classics from LFO's Gez Varley under his G-Man moniker on one gloriously red transparent piece of 12" vinyl. "Quo Vadis" was recorded way back in 1994 and you can just hear those Maurizio influences seeping out of every pore - a looped 4/4 template squashed and stretched with neon stabs and a mesmerising minimal progression, tight, airy hi-hats and effortless breakdowns..so so good. "El Jem" on the flip is from the same period but is much more dubby, another Basic Channel session with all the percussive clunking you'd want and then some, while "Sparticus" ends the set with another hi-hat-heavy looped killer. Awesome stuff - once again HURRY to avoid dissapointment - this label is on fire right now.
