lv & okmalumkoolkat - Boomslang / Zharp
"Big tings/Big tings/Big tings!" Hyperdub's latest heater was borne in South Africa when LV visited Jo'burg on a tour/Kwaito recon mission. Linking up with local MC Okmalumkoolkat via Spoek Mathambo, LV laid a Kwaito-styled riddim for his incesantly infectious repetition of "Boomslang", and one of the years most immediate cuts hit the ground running. The tune is purely indicative of the outernational fusions occurring within the walls of London town and we're helpless against its charms. On the flip you'll find the dinkier 'Zharp', a sticky sweet but brief confection of Skweee-style 8-Bit synths and tidily tucked syncopations for able dancers.
