bruce haack - The Electric Voice
Stones Throw present the highly anticipated 'Farad: The Electronic Voice' a collection from American electric music pioneer and Vocodor innovator Bruce Haack. The set centres around Haack's use of the vocoder, which he successfully created and put to work several years before its most notable use on Kraftwerk's 'Autobahn'. Haack is a truly unsung hero of electric music, an iconoclast, a self-taught savant of sorts, and an innovative early adopter of plugged-in production techniques who developed a unique agenda to educate children with his music. These 16 tracks portray his prototypical techno and electro in all its glory, from the Silver Apples-esque 'National Anthem To The Moon', to his later work in the eighties with 'Party Machine', which is currently doing the rounds as a dope Prince De Language edit on youtube. Stones Throw have done a sterling job in giving this man some props - this is an absolute must for electronic music followers of all persuasions.
