First of the remix sessions spawned from M.I.A's 'Maya' album gives revisions of 'XXXO' from Riton, SBTRKT and Blaqstarr. With the grungy electro-pop ingredients of her original, Riton builds a big-room raver with Funky-indebted percussion, next to SBTRKT's dynamically jerky refit packed with squawking synths and rumbling tribal-tek rhythms. Blaqstarr's is the most interesting remix, perching M.I.A on top of booming R'n'B warzone drums and a slick guitar lick full of brooding menace threatening to precipitate arthop mortars all up in your area. Boom.
