joaan - Splendor In The Grass
Bold fusions from the 7even records camp, unloading the debut 12" from Joaan. 'Splendor' in the grass sets the pace to a Funky/techno compatible 130bpm with offset kicks to keep a finger in the dubstep bowl, but it's when that synth drops that we're in new territory, taking the exuberance of big room electro-house and tailoring it for the fans of Sbtrkt or Joy Orbison. Meanwhile, '115 State' switches styles again with punchy tribalist drums and bellicose synth swarms giving way to dubbier rollidge. Tuff and tidy!
