t.williams - T.Williams EP
Tom Lea's newly minted Local Action label drops three heavyweight Funky house bombs from Deep Teknologi's T. Williams and as far as we know it's the first vinyl release to be associated with the Deep Teknologi duo who share close links with the likes of Cooly G and the rest of the burgeoning London house scene. In the style of Geeneus' 'Volumes 1' or Seiji's recent 'Yesman', the EP bridges the gap between ruffer, street level UK house and European big-room party starters with bold production values and a London sense of swagger. Lead track 'Afric' is urged on by swollen subs and stylish organ stabs with hints of minimal tech-house while Jackmaster favourite 'Anthem' draws for pan pipes and rolled tribal percussion with brash, grimy strings before the technoid 'Flooring' smoothly layers up twilight chords and effortless swingers rhythms. Currently big with Kode 9, Sinden, Joy Orbison and Ben UFO - Recommended!
