doc daneeka - Deadly Rhythm EP
Lethal four-tracker of freshest Funky! Doc Daneeka initiates Ramp's new PTN sublabel, devoted to emergent strains of UKF, with his debut solo EP. With only a handful of tracks on comps (Fabric's Elevator Music) and a remix for Delphic the hype has so far outweighed the proof, but this EP sets that straight. 'Deadly Rhythm' sets the carnival vibe from the off with tribalist drum kinks and tactile, muscular subs while 'Dizzeeheights' runs with a smoother house vibe heated with filtered rhodes and subtly droning klaxons. On the flip 'Bumblebeeriddim' comes off like jan Driver's 'Rat Alert' designed more specifically for smaller, sweatier UK clubs amd 'Swine Flu' knocks off a rugged skank riddim with traces of Roska or DVA's party style. The likes of Martyn, Brackles and Bok Bok have been spinning these out recently and we'd recommend you do too!
