Subliminal Sounds continue the 'Thai Beat A Go-Go' series with another compendium of mental rock'n'roll. The Thai rock scene of the late 60s and early 70s is a eye opening place, combining western themes with unusual native inflections and character to result in something that's far more than the sum of its parts. We've been floored by the cartoonish Rock-a-billy jungle of 'Ding Dong' from Surapon, and equally the mournful psyche-rock anthem 'Let Your Life Be Free' from T. Zchew & The Johnny, while Sruang Santi's 'Aow Pai Pao' licks up killer fuzz guitars and breakbeats and Sodsai Chaengkij has robbed our hearts with the Go-Go energy of 'Lady Madonna'. It's every bit as killer as the last comp and hugely recommended to lovers of Sublime Frequencies or truly exotic music.
