errors - Come Down With Me
Following their ace debut of two years ago, the confusingly titled It's Not Something But It Is Like Whatever, Errors return with another batch of hyper-tuneful electronic post-rock. After the stellar introductory piece 'Bridge Or Cloud?', the album really kicks in with the brilliant 'A Rumour In Africa' which takes a tightly engineered live drum kit, big brassy synths and ringing guitar hooks to fashion a very fine instrumental that manages to preserve a nice verse-chorus exchange. 'Supertribe' is better yet, propelling the band's sound into fully realised dancefloor terrain whilst never once dropping the ball as far as melodic hooks are concerned. As the album develops the band successfully deconstruct their sound into thoughtful, finely crafted synth-rock instrumentals like 'Beard' and 'Antipode', whilst even offering their own slant on the DFA sound, with 'Germany'. Good stuff.
