BACK IN STOCK. Another excursion into acoustic doom by Deaf Center's Erik K. Skodvin, and the Norwegian's impeccable quality control is showing no signs of waning. The bleak atmospherics of the two tracks featured here draw upon droning organ, guitar discord and Skodvin's natural surrounds for source material. The shuffle and clatter of stones, wood and water tumbling together is at the forefront of 'Boat Depardieu' with funereal chimes penetrating the nebulous, droning soundscape. 'Wind With Teeth' is no less potent: abrasive environmental textures are mangled together with what sounds like birds squawking in agony. This is shadowy cinematic music of the highest order. Awesome.
