false prophet / spatial - Wake Up (Spatial Mixes)
Excellent first release on the newly minted Take imprint, featuring a False Prophet production and two killer reworks from the mighty Spatial. First, the "Spatial Dub' aligns heavy stabs and woodblock percussion for a more dubby take on Martyn-style post-garage, with coloured shapes and synths providing the necessary partified vibes while the heavy low-end keeps it primed for the darker edges of the floor. Bearweasel's 'Got Fleas' mix is over on the flipside and is an absolutely colossal piece of filthy club music, all undulating basslines and an almost jacking Chicago House vibe for peaktime operators, before Spatial returns to notch up the dub vibes and keep it decidedly heavy. Definitely a label to watch - essential twelve!
