sin fang bous - Adventures In Ives Garden
Sin Fang Bous is the solo guise of Sindri Mar Sigfusson, one of Seabear's key members. On this new 7" Sindri delivers two electronic pop delicacies: 'Advent In Ives Garden' is like a coming together of Panda Bear and Caribou in its appropriation of impeccable modern pysch-pop, although the garbled verses only just get away with sounding a bit like one of those fast bits from a Barenaked Ladies single. A wholly enjoyable A-side though, one which feels as if it's blurting out ideas faster than anyone could really absorb upon only a mere few listens. The B-side is better still, once again bringing to mind the output of Animal Collective and the Paw tracks bunch. A pounding kick drum keeps the song to a strict format, keeping things skeletal until a soaring synth line arrives halfway through tying all the elements together. It's a great little ditty and no mistake, one which suggests that somewhere down the line there's a solid album to come from Sindri.
