» Not on Campaign (18)Hard-edged Dubstep rave in House-up and Halfstep variations. A-side Laxx goes in with Farkas on a tuffened Kuduro-meets-Dubstep-round-the-Tidy Boys'-place vibe, and with Soap Dodgers he's on a 'floor razing rave tip.

Cartoonish Dubstep debut from Farkas. 'Harmless' is a taut, triplet-driven halfstep lurcher. 'Tribal Dance' jacks on a swinging 4/4 drive nodding to Kuduro.

Debut, heavyweight, three-pronged Dubstep Rave attack from Oxford's Laxx, aka Jamie Churchill. A-side 'Warning' is f**king fierce, sounding out crushing halfstep dynamics powered by mighty, guttural subs and squadrons of dive bombing synths deployed in canny manner that really doesn't feel too cheesy. Flipside, he goes in with the boingy, Benga or D1-styled roller 'Self Destruct', tweaking Electro-House synthlines over rugged steppers' rhythms, and places the finishing move with body-wrenching force on 'Transmission'. One to watch…

Metallic edged Dubstep and Electro tracks from South London Bass fiends. Their collaborative effort's like chewing on tinfoil with your head a bassbin, nasty and nice. On his own Kutz rolls out the lean, aquatic Electro-Jack of 'G742' and morse-coded synth stabs on halfstep skanker 'The Warning'.
"Benton is one of Dubstep's up and coming stars. Tes La Rok is a dubstep DJ & music producer from east Helsinki, Finland. He was one of the first international names to break thru in the scene few years ago. Walsh says his style is very energetic and his sets full of uptempo tracks, "I’m really into the more techy, futuristic side of the sound. Mystical pads, staggered beat patterns, weighty sub bass…"I love it mate!"

Split Dubstep rave platter from N-Type and Matt-U. On 'Simples' N-Type rolls off tribal drums, Distance-style axework and wobble bass while Matt-U churns up powerful subbass and rattling halfstep drum programming on the flip with 'Compass'.

Split release from two of Manchester's underground dubstep dons, Chimpo and Biome. On 'Nasty' Chimpo goes darkside with haunting synth pads and visceral mid-range synthlines, while Biome follows the vibe with the techy sci-fi construction of 'Feeling Good' and the mean leer of 'Customs'.
Benga & Walsh hook it up their fifth collaboration (if my sums are right), initiating Croydon's new Biscuit Factory label. Both tracks are made for the bigger raves with efficiently powerful and metallic subs driving bouncy electro synths and slightly comical robo-vocals. Big with Skream, N-Type, Chef and Hatcha!
