Fliami Vice heart it up with a shaking electro booty version of 'Banana Split', Chris De Luca vs Phon.o get on a darkside hip-house vibe with their version of 'Get Your Whistle Wet', Boreta's remix of 'Rambunktion' is syrupy screwed style for the rollers, and DJ C provides the albums best track with a crafty tech stepping post timbaland mix of 'Get Your Whistle Wet'.
Following on from last year's inaccurately titled Girls Love Breakcore full-length, David Y. Wang, head of the Daly City imprint returns under his Mochipet guise for an album of vocal collaborations, fusing a host of established and less widely known vocal talents with his own continually evolving production style. In fact, the Mochipet sound has come a long way since those early mash-ups and mixes that made his name, and here Wang sounds every bit the highly accomplished electronic musician, approaching hip hop from a fresh, experimental angle. A regular contributor to these sorts of elect… Read more

Trust me now, girls don't love breakcore - I'm almost a girl and I struggle with it. Mochipet clearly has other ideas (unless he's being funny. ho ho) and he proceeds to mince what he feels is female-friendly dancefloor fodder into break-core nonsense with all the rubbery amen action you'd expect to hear on a Vsnares record. It might be well produced but this kind of puerile pop-core nonsense is almost designed to irritate me so much that I am thinking now about going out and murdering masses of innocents. Maybe it's because I don't have a GSOH. damn I'm never gonna get anywhere with personals adverts now am I. I suck. Kill me now.

A remix album of Mochipet's past glories, 'Feel My China' is an Anadin inducing collection of rabid remixes and prefabs from the likes of Jason Forest, Exillon, Yorgi, Damiak and Duran Duran Duran. United by a love of fractured beats, the various cut+shuts on show here range from the Vangelis soundscapes of Exillion's 'Acid Panda Laptop Death Mix' and Damiak's static-ruptured IDM of 'Konstrukt Still ?'s IDM Mix', through to the propulsive beats'n'strings pile-up of Jason Forest (in his Donna Summer guise) and DevNull's breakbeat/core/hip-hop/Mike Patton-esque break down on 'This … Read more

Mochipet follows up his malladjusted activities for Tigerbeat6, Violent Turd and Bpitch Control with this frantic full-lengther for Component. Juxtaposing retarded melodies and hyperactive scary fisher price mobile music with dark strings, stretches of ambience, offkilter japanese vocal sampling and breakneck spastic beats, stopping and starting with the required amount of silliness. Includes a remix from Otto von schirach - wickedly messy sh*t from another talented Tigerbeat affiliate.
This eight track remix EP kicks off with a glitched up hip hop routine on the Deework remix, which is an apt starting point, very much in the spirit of Mochipet's recent production style. Next comes a Kush Arora overhaul throwing Middle Eastern influences into the mix thanks to some well-placed samples. Perhaps the most radically altered production comes from Build128 whose fiery, distorted amen break posturing livens things up no end.
