» Not on Campaign (9)Man Tänker Sitt (or Burrowing) is the score to a film by Henrik Hellström and Fredrik Wenzel by Stockholm's Erik Enocksson. As tends to be the case with Kning Disk's output the tone is one of starkly arranged melancholy, calling upon a comparatively small palette of instruments to communicate a whole album's worth of emotions. Key to the success of this record is Enocksson's multi-layered, heavy-headed vocals which really imbue the record with a sense of isolation and loneliness, yet you might just hear a creeping sense of optimism about Enocksson's lamenting harmonies. This new mini album from Erik Enocksson follows on from a couple of wonderful releases from the Swedish multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer, namely the film soundtrack Farval Falkenberg and the small but perfectly formed Harsh And Stubborn That River Bends, released on 7". For this latest body of work, Enocksson pens a series of songs and quiet instrumental intervals, collectively clocking in at just under twenty-five minutes. That turns out to be a pretty ideal duration - a perfect length for sustaining the kind of croaky intimacy Enocksson specia… Read more

This new Kning Disk 7" from Erik Enocksson is all kinds of lovely. Enocksson's gone for a three-pronged attack with the release: using beautiful Jon Wozencroft-style photography as packaging and even supplying a poem printed on an insert. There is of course, some music on here too: A-side 'Harsh And Stubborn That River Bends' is an instrumental straight from Fairyland, decked out in guitar plucks and music box melodies, the kind of thing Trunk Records might end up reissuing in thirty years or so. On the B-side, Enocksson adds a vocal but still doesn't compromise … Read more

And the winner for best packaging of the day goes to... Erik Enocksson with this gorgeous soundtrack to the Swedish movie 'Farväl Falkenberg', not that I've seen the movie as it's in Swedish and I haven't mastered that tongue yet, but still, it's probably good. The cover is all rough and tactile and Scandinavian looking and I have to say, it's brightened up my surreal afternoon, and that's before listening to the music. Luckily Enocksson doesn't disappoint and does exactly what I'd hope - lovely tempered acoustic compositions that sound like they were made on a back porch in Ameri… Read more
