stefan goldmann - Parameter
**DVD PAL. 16:9. German with English subtitles. 41 minutes. Region Code free** 'Parameter' is a documentary film about the music and practice of Macro label owner, DJ and producer, Stefan Goldmann. The press notes allude to Goldmann as "Techno's most restless innovator" which is probably more hyperbolic than true, because to be fair, his profile outside of Berlin isn't so noticeable (to us, at least). But for what it's worth, this is probably one of the best DVDs on the Berlin Techno thing that we've seen: Goldmann gives lucid, intelligent and straightforward answers to director and interviewer Tobias Fischer's questions, cut with segments of the protagonist's music and jaunts to Hardwax and Dubplates & Mastering, plus some cool button-bashing sessions in the studio. Stefan currently holds a Macro residency at Panorama Bar and hosts the Elektroakusticher Salon at Berghain. He has remixed Fennesz and Igor Stravinsky and released records on Perlon, The Tapeworm, and Innervisions.
