Last year's "Jagz The Smack" twelve from Rustie turned out to be one of our biggest selling, as well as our favourite single of 2007. The record sold out long before we could even begin to satisfy demand for it - and now in 2008 Rustie is pretty much the name on everyone's lips so expect these lush screen-printed copies to last about 30 seconds. Alongside Hudson Mohawke, Flying Lotus and Lukid, Rustie stands at the helm of the slow, bass-heavy and lo-slung Hip Hop variations that have pushed all the right buttons for us these last twelve months, a sound that somehow takes in influence not only from Hip Hop but also from Dubstep, R&B, Booty Bass, Dub, Electro and some might even say Techno. This new twelve finds Rustie in collaboration with the mysterious 215 TFK to deliver 4 tracks and 3 instrumental versions - 7 tracks of squashed beat constructions, filthy low-end ghetto tracks and R&B decimations packed with gnarly bass stabs and brilliant, oddly sequenced beat arrangements to rule your world. It's one of those records - the louder you play it the more it f*cks with your senses, and that BASS is just unfathomably righteous.
