'Rise' was written and produced just a few weeks ago, having started life as an elongated gamelan track that went through several incarnations and variations before settling on this relentless 11 minute mix. Gone are stewart's signature snares, in come all manner of miniscule percussive arrangements, panning drums and tempo shifts that toy with the possibilities of restraint and reduction. We think its the most brilliantly f*cked up production from Mark Stewart yet, and by far his most developed. ESSENTIAL PURCHASE.
