synkro - Acceptance EP
R&S's Apollo sub-label presents the closest you'll find to an album from Joe McBride aka Synkro. Assisted by Mindset ally Indigo on one track, 'Mutual Divide', the 'Acceptance EP' manifests Synkro's increasingly ambient sound at its lushest, forlorn over eight atmospheric tracks exploring the compatibility of Burial and Ulrich Schnauss and dBridge's respective styles in his own, melancholy manner. It's new age pot pourri for the dubstep generation, all pristine, aerated pads and evocative chord sequences spliced with languid guitar tones and neat, minimal percussions, finding highlights to savour on the BC-esque beatless dub drift of 'Recognition', in the curdling guitar strokes and vocals of 'Don't Want' and the meditative widescreen space of 'To Be'.
