kangding ray - The Pentaki Slopes
Expansive sound designer techno from Kangding Ray on his return to Raster Noton. 'North' is the obvious club track; a stripped down, offset body-worker with almost nauseating subs that lurch in-and-out of the mix under alien melody and arctic front simulacra. 'Plateau (A Single Source Of Truth)' is the wheezy, slow-motion bridge with sorta cloyingly over-dark vocal insinuations, and the epic 'South' features the kind of speaker-blistering bass textures and arcing, proggy sci-fi synths which this guy has pretty much made his stock in trade, and which you'll come back to time and again. Immersive stuff, one for the techiest techno heads.
