happa - Beat Of The Drum
London-based clubnight Church initiate their vinyl wing with a pair of track by Leeds-based producer, Happa, who is ironically too young to legally enter their events. At 15 years of age and judging from the darting, sinuous, minimal percussion and bass pressure of 'Beat Of The Drum' to the low-down ghetto darkness of 'Bring It Back', he's evidently a shocking talent, showing up producers twice his age. Remixing, Church have roped in the more than capable services of Throwing Snow for a rapid flux of Footwork drums and bass controlled with an elastic slow-fast sensibility while Seb Wildwood & Apes give a tech-house overhaul.
