ike yard - Regis / Monoton Versions
In the wake of their reissued LP, Ike Yard, Desire and Blackest Ever Black present killer versions of their foundational album tracks. Regis is the perfect nomination to revise the stripped down paranoia of 'Loss'. Now working with a proper analogue desk, techno's arch outsider gets his claws right in there, filleting the original into a mesh of fibrillating, twitchy machine pulses, heaving subbass and vaporous voices, hopefully marking an exciting new phase of his oeuvre. Flipside, Monoton follows the reissue of his classic 'Monotonprodukt 07' LP with a simmering dub of 'NCR', blunting and morphing Ike Yard with a queer tactility until they wriggle like rubbery eels. We shouldn't really need to say it, but this really is a bit special.
