fur - Yonder
If you thought you had the measure of Fur from his ace debut for UNO NYC, think again. While that last one was all synthesized deep house and garage, here he sounds more like Jan Jelinek tussling with Pepe Braddock and midnight jazz modes. 'Snow' is a superb introduction, plaintive keys linger against a backdrop of passing trains and zipping hovercar comtrails, while the house exotica of 'Heaven' and the glitching sensuality of 'Reverie' coulda come from one of Jan Jelinek's early 2000s issues. 'Yonder' is Fur at his furthest, largely scraping out the beats to leave a slow 2-step skeleton fleshed with eerie chorales and fizzing bleeps reminding of Fade To Mind's Nguzunguzu or Total Freedom, while 'Wind' is lush, owing some dues to the suave house of Pepe Braddock.
