Pop maverick John Maus precedes his forthcoming 'Collection Of Rarities And Previously Unreleased Material' with a digital issue of music from his RSD-exclusive flexi disc. It features two previously unreleased cuts from his archive which will be included in the album - his follow-up to the widely acclaimed 'We Must become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves'. 'No Title (Molly)' (2008) lifts off on soaring, dusky synths and dancing bassline with an unmistakably classic American Rock & Pop trajectory. Swaddled in tape fuzz and bluer in mood, 2004's 'Mental Breakdown' riffs near-unintelligible lyrics to dry drum machine and faded memories of classic, FM wave-pop melodies. There's every possibility these will be on heavy rotation round ours until the full album drops… Recommended!
