Japan-based producer and Diskotopia boss A Taut Line (aka Matt Lyne) returns for ‘2776 Digital Hi-Vision’ which furthers his exploration of sizzling post-garage beatscapes and smart dancefloor destroyers. There are no extraneous remixes here, just five chunky bangers injecting the very best of Japanese musical culture (think a Ryuichi Sakamoto on Blade Runner) into a very British template. ‘2776 Digital Hi Vision’ should appeal to fans of Spatial, Boxcutter and Sully, but there’s enough going on to even turn the heads of a more experimental-minded set. Transportitive stuff, for sure, and a record that’s sure to stick for a while.
