Second album from DIY conceptualist Dustin Wong, a collection of 16 miniatures all created out of an elaborate feedback loop of pedal distortion and delay - a set-up/practice that yielded similarly fabulous results on Wong's debut LP, Infinitive Love. Recorded live with minimal overdubs, Dreams Say, View, Create, Shadow Leads is at once a homely and otherworldly record, its sensuous, cyclical, electrified folk psychedelia calling to mind the hallowed reverberations of Manuel Gottsching, Steve Reich, The Durutti Column, Michael Brook and Peter Gabriel, but more strung-out and fried than any of those cats (well, 70s Manuel excepted). Blissful, hypnotic stuff.
