parchman - Dystopia
First digital issue of this unreleased dance/rock/electronica hybrid LP, originally released on XL prototype, City Beat in 1990. While sorting out a collection of his early singles, XL discovered Parchman's shelved album 'Dystopia', a 14 track collection mixing baggy guitar jangle with sharper-edged hip hop and Manchester electro rhythms, all tied together with some excellent moments of ambient electronica. Much of it sounds very dated, but the four 'Link' tracks are worth checking, as is the Techno throbber 'Isolation' and the Monday's styled 'Heterodox'.
