Mindset introduce a new producer to their tightly knit fold with Troy Gunner's soulful three-track 12". A-side is given to the fractious skip of 'Fool's Gold', landing somewhere between the electronic charms of Mount Kimbie and James Blake - weaving a patina of field recorded vocals and well picked R&B snippets over diced boogie funk bass and clipped swing drums. Flipside 'Heads in Hands' is well smoked-out and fonky, coughing out stumbling halftime rhythms and warmly woozy chord sequence with an effect that seems to lower the lights of its own accord, while 'Dancing in the Leaves' perks up some more, deftly dissecting a sparing 2-step pattern with until it frays and falls about blurry chords and tidy, live-feeling bass fills.
