Another demonic offering from the Hospital camp, this hour-long noise collage comes from the barely pronounceable Alzagailzehguh. A murky, murderous lesson in cassette tape abuse, we’re dragged kicking and screaming through a rodent-filled basement of stretched vocals, machine noise, distant rumble and emotional torture. Hospital again show with this release that volume is never the key to the effectiveness of noise, and while ‘Memory & Hearing’ isn’t the noisiest release on the label, it might be among the most troubling. Like listening to a core selection of torture porn and snuff movies chopped into their least obvious parts, this is a record that reveals its true nature over time, almost just too late for you to realize what you just experienced. True darkness, in the best possible way.
