futurisk - Lonely Streets (Chris Carter / Prince Language Mixes)
Minimal Wave offshoot, CitiTrax, presents four remakes of Futurisk's Floridian electro by four of their biggest fans, Chris Carter, Prince Language, Complexxion and Tom Furse. Using the original stem tracks for 'Lonely Streets' recorded in 1982, the remixers were detailed with using analogue production methods in order to keep a faithful integrity to the original. So, it's quite interesting to see how of each producer's character shows through on their respective efforts. Prince Language's is undoubtedly dancefloor dedicated, arranged with an expertly engrossing groove. Chris Carter's is more dynamic and weird, a fluttering moire of synthlines underpinned with a more discrete, in-the-pocket groove. The Complexxion version is more sparse, disowning the vocal for a sharply contoured instrumental mix. Tom Furse's is possibly our favourite, accenting the hand-claps and strobing bass for mighty 'floor potential.
