Originally released as a mammoth eight-cassette box, this collection of live recordings is about as comprehensive as they come. The core duo of Matt Valentine and Erika Elder are accompanied here by Mick Flower (of the blistering Flower Corsano Duo as well as Vibracathedral Orchestra), John Moloney (of Sunburned Hand of the Man) and Zuma, and guest spots come from Dinosaur Junior’s J.Mascis and Doc Dunn. No shortage of talent then, and the sprawling band rock through an actual month of tunes, getting truly into the spirit of classic blues rock. There is little of the ‘free folk’ the duo may have cut their teeth on back in the day, this is slow, psychedelic and incredibly heavy – even bordering on the pre-metal of Led Zeppelin at times. Astral travellers from all four corners of the globe should check without delay, this little package will keep cravings at bay for some time…
