stephen farris - Twin Tape Cycles
Promising new imprint The Analogue Quadrant drop their third release, a 7-track EP from Stephen Farris. Appropriating the kind of cosmic beat music typical of Flylo's Brainfeeder crew, Farris makes nifty use of the VHS aesthetic that's so prevelant at the moment, creating a kind of hazy, forcibly aged counterpoint to the pristine percussive shuffles that were all the rage a few years back. There's a textured, woozy quality to these recordings that should find much admiration from any of you into Dorian Concept, Lukid, or indeed the aforementioned Flylo. Recommended!
