Envy unleash their fourth full-length album for Mogwai's Rock Action label, further blurring the boundaries between panoramic post-rock styles and blazing, hardcore-influenced extremes. The pervading tranquility of opener 'Guidance' comes as something of a surprise - knowing this band's quiet-loud reputation you might reasonably be expecting the track to well and truly kick off at some point, yet you'll have to wait until a good four minutes or so into the equally cinematic 'Last Hours Of Eternity' for the band to really bare their teeth. Plenty of screamo thrills are to be found thereafter, with 'Rain Clouds Running In A Holy Night' and 'Dreams Coming To An End' among the tracks making up for the early lull. Powerful, unashamedly epic stuff from a band who really know how to carve out a crescendo.
