fonogram / konntinent - split
Fonogram is a former member of One Second Bridge, who previously released their eponymous album via the Buro label a couple of years back. Now going it alone, Vicente Garcia Landa spins out inviting ambient/post-rock style material, three examples of which are to be found here. The first entry, 'Cruz Del Sur', is particularly good, transmitting a blurry, washed-out feel, while Konntinent takes to the piano for a trio of touching vignettes laced with abstract sound designs, coarse field recordings and occasional xylophone. It's all so short on this necessarily brief format, but there's a little bit of magic in this Londoner's music, recalling works by Goldmund and Library Tapes.
