yellow tears - The Pis*mop LP
Cast your crooked minds back to last year and you may remember a stunning album of blackened ambience and noise from Yellow Tears called 'Don't Cry'. The 'Pissmop' LP was their debut for Dominik Fernow's Hospital Productions label, another unremitting set of petrified power electronics set amidst fetid atmospherics, like the imaginary soundtrack to a modern day snuff slick. From the brutal detonations and warehouse ambience of the opener 'Descent A - The Ritual Preparation', 'Gag Symphony' manipulates a choir of gargling, choking throats into a riveting, yet f*cking uncomfortable arrangement. 'Nectars Of The Passion' soon increases the intensity with convulsing duck quacks and circus melodies whereas 'Straining Repulsion' launches a blistering noise assault and 'Idled Saturation' comes off like an anxious Kevin Drumm composition, full of dank ambience and dread-filled drones. Awesome.
