Originally released with a book as part of a boxset, this compilation album set out to capture rural life out in the wilds of a Swedish forest. Music comes from such big names as Jose Gonzalez, Peter Broderick and Tape, getting underway with the almost Disney-like pastoral loveliness of Jan Lindblad. Elsewhere, Tired Tape Machine follow suit with mellotron lines and lo-fi jazzy rhythms, capturing a certain rundown Scandinavian romance, while Chaz Knapp lays down a beautiful piano solo and Hans Appelqvist turns out a wonderfully atmospheric, cinematic folk piece from flute and acoustic guitar. Of the most famousnames here, Peter Broderick's 'A Song For The Cranes' is every bit as striking as the compositions that made up his Float album, while Jose Gonzalez supplies a typically adept fingerpicked guitar outing, which he hums over lightly rather than providing a full vocal.
