altered natives - Serial Vendetta
Danny Natives drops his second album in as many months with the exhilarating fusions of 'Serial Vendetta' for his own digi-label eye4eye. As with any of his productions, the parameters of house, techno and broken beat are constantly in a state of flux, innately flickering with a restless energy that makes his tracks prime dancing gear. There's a more defined sense of narrative to this album than previously, largely due to the use of noirish film dialogue and darker electroid soundscapes that knit his febrile rhythm programming together. Initial standouts would have to be the complex beat breaking of '5 Deadly Venoms', the bandy legged rudeboy pivots of 'Shankle' and the unstable construction of raver's spesh 'F*ck Your Couch' but there's enough tricky turns in here to keep even the most agile jazz dancer on his toes for days. Big.
