Lil Silva owns the game right now with a crucially rude six-tracker for Night Slugs. It's his most comprehensive release to date, scanning milestone anthems 'Seasons' (big with Marcus Nasty, Modeselektor, Jackmaster) and the exceptional 'Pulse vs Flex' (both hard to find on digital), next to four brand new heaters including the sophisticated title cut. 'Night Skanker' borrows from the Euro-influenced sound of Geeneus and swerves back towards the ruder NS aesthetic with grimy, serrated stabs and subbass pressure to buckle ya batty before 'Perfussion' imagines classic Virgo Trax timewarped to a 2010 London carnival. Meanwhile, 'Golds To Get' hustles slick R'n'B club stabs around expertly scattered swing percussion before 'Against Yaself' tops out with a taut forward roller spun out by escalating techno synths and bombed with electroid bass. This is one of the juiciest Funky packages we've had in stock and comes highly recommended to all raver and DJ.
