lv - 38 EP ft. Josh Idehen
Keysound's latest transmission is this long awaited project from LV and MC Josh Idehen dedicated to London's infamous #38 bus route. The route obviously holds some significance for both LV and Josh Idehen who compose five tracks inspired by and reflecting their regular path through the big city. LV clearly isn't aiming for the dancefloor with these tracks, drawing on head-nodders hiphop to sub-overloaded sit-step that sounds much better from the comfort of your armchair, or as probably intended, via headphones on a bus seat covered in brown chewing gum ventilated by the breath of a monster in the chair behind. The riddims are deliberately stripped to complement Idehen's vocals which range from off-the-dome rants to onomatopoeic outbursts, at times disarmingly sensitive, at others garishly explicit, relating to a bus analogy as overheard conversations of the most random and absorbingorder. It's a change for Keysound, and one well worth checking fast. recommended!
