From the still glowing embers of Glasgow's acclaimed Wireblock, Dress 2 $weat and Stuff record labels comes the futureproof Numbers conglomerate, comprising an award winning and longstanding clubnight, a deadly new record label and bold website, Nmbrs.net. This crew would appear to have the world's clubs at their feet begging for another wheel, so they've put together this 14 track selection in order to give us lowly ravers a history lesson covering template-resetting tracks from Piddy Py, Rustie and Lory D, alongside the new generation of fence smashers from Deadboy, L-Vis 1990 and Redinho (with a track yet to be released!). The selection exposes roots buried deep in American club music - hiphop, electro and techno - and a salivating hunger for newest UK forms like Bassline, Funky and that F*ck-knows-what-U-call-It stuff that makes record buying so much fun nowadays. It's nearly impossible to give them a blanket banner, so we'll just settle for Dance Music in the most classic UK sense, a mongrel mixture of international rhythms in constant, excitable, flux.
