Honest Jon's present a legendary album from a foundational reggae legend in 'Cedric Im Brooks & The Light Of Saba', finally available for the digital diggers. Born in 1943 in Kingston, Cedric and his tenor saxophone would play on early records from the studio of Coxsone Dodd and later join Jackie Mittoo, Roland Alphonso and Vin Gordon as part of the legendary Skatalites. '...& The Light Of Saba' is his seminal calling card, striking to the roots of Jamaican and Rasta heritage with ancient nyabinghi drumming while incorporating traits of jazz, rhumba, Afro-beat, Latin and soul into a potent masterpiece. His influence on countless Jamaican riddims cannot be underestimated and this is quite possibly one of the most enjoyable reggae albums you'll find. Awesome.
