The Editions Mego boss set aside his Pita moniker in favour of his own name for this release, and perhaps that's a decision tied to this piece's stylistic deviation from the main thread of his work. The catchily titled 'KM29644' takes on a hushed, minimal quality here, very gradually emerging from an opening few minutes of rumbling quiet before revealing a kind of spiralling industrial noise steeped in metallic echo and murky computer designs. It sounds like the death rattle of some weary robot, slowly shutting down over the course of a woozy, mysterious seventeen-and-a-half minutes. As you'd expect from Rehberg, this is top class material and it's quite unlike anything any other artist might have come up with for the Kapotte Muziek series.
