With a title like that, you should already have a pretty good idea of what you're letting yourselves in for: Merry Kitschmas is a highly entertaining if creatively dubious festive compilation. H.E.R. hereby invite you to enjoy a "Psychedelic Christas" and a "groovy Noël" and it really doesn't get any more sensible from there on in. I shan't insult your intelligence by suggesting I have any idea who Mr. Martini or Valerie Masters are (although a quick sniff around the internet suggests that the latter is a '60s one-hit wonder) though they both make worthy contributions to an album that seems to cull novelty Yuletide hits from the more obscure corners of Christmas past. Lots of fun, and a perfect antidote to the usual deluge of Slade and Wizzard soundtracked Christmas parties you'll no doubt be attending over the next few weeks.
