tom fazzini - Neck To Neck
Tom Fazzini's immensely challenging experimental electronics LP Neck To Neck first showed up in 1984, released via Gordon A. Hope's A-Mission imprint - a label which also released material by the likes of Asmus Tietchens. There's a suggestion of industrial experimentation running through the record, which weaves harsh, post-punk tactics into an assemblage of destructive abstract electronics, synth-based minimalism and tape noise. On top of all that, pieces like 'Fioriora' have more than a little bit of a Joy Division influence floating around in there, which is certainly a far cry from the jokey, pastoral collage composition 'Yawnings In The Awnings', which opens the album with a spot of electroacoustic pandiculation.
