roof light - In Your Hands EP
Seductive late night styles from the Styrax camp introducing an EP of deeper post-garage and dub house hypbrids from Gareth Munday aka Roof Light. As far as we're aware, this is his debut 12" and it sounds like he's been listening to a lot of Martyn, Burial and Dave Huismans. 'Around Here' and 'Heart Like An Airport Runway' wrap up slinking garage syncopations with beautiful ambient textures in the shadow of dub techno, while 'In Your Hands' is very nearly a recreation of Burial's 'Crackle Blues' remix, executed to the highest standards. 'Radiance' finishes a great EP with Detroit downbeats reminiscent of early Urban Tribe mixed with the techy shuffle of A Made Up Sound. Sick twelve.
