Preceding Tama Sumo's essential Panorama Bar 02 mix, Ostgut Ton carve off two slabs of heavyweight house music from Levon Vincent and P'bar resident Steffi. You may have realised by now that we've developed a serious crush on the productions of New York's Levon Vincent, with his Novel Sound and Deconstruct 12"s ranking among the best of the year. On 'Late Night Jam' he's done it again, rustling up an irresistably kinky groove that's got us flicking the lights on-and-off in the office like it's midday Sunday in Berlin. For us it's all about the control and depth of his grooves, deploying incremental shifts with a cunning wisdom and somehow making sub-industrial technohouse sounds come alive with an enveloping warmth that simply kills us. The flipside cut '24 Hours' comes from long running resident and Klakson records head Steffi. It's a heartfelt and half-lit paean to eternal (well, all day anyway) grooving with supple square bass and floating chord arrangements made for the deepest 3pm moments. Lush 12", well recommended!
